Beyonce featured as cover model on 2007 SI Swimsuit Edition
'Dreamgirls' star Beyonce Knowles has been unveiled as the 2007 cover-girl for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
The SI Swimsuit Edition started in 1964, and is now an annual publishing event that generates a huge amount of media attention, including TV shows, videos and calendars.
The edition generally features fashion models wearing bikinis, but has more recently started to feature sports stars and now entertainers as well.
Previous Swimsuit Edition cover-girls have been Christie Brinkley, Rachel Hunter, Heidi Klum and the first African-American cover model, Tyra Banks. Homegrown hottie Elle Macpherson holds the record though, with 5 covers under her belt!
Beyonce will be only the second African-American woman to grace the highly coveted front cover of the magazine, which also happens to be the 'Music' issue.
